Hello to friends, old and new!

The title of this page is "About Us." Well, the "us" is me. Hello, I am MK Fields, author of the book A Ladder from Earth to Heaven: The Rosary for All Christians. I enjoyed just about every moment (regardless of what several of my friends would tell you) when I wrote the book and set up this web site. Perhaps because I always felt myself surrounded by the white light of the Holy Spirit. Perhaps because no matter what difficulties arose an answer always presented itself. More importantly, though, is the depth I grew spiritually by having to put in print what I wore in my heart.

The Protestant rosary is based on meditative prayer. If meditative prayer is not "your thing" then the Protestant rosary is not for you. However, if you enjoy quiet, peace-filled meditations on our Lord's life, many times in conjunction with your own personal prayers, you will become involved in a fuller, deeper prayer life wherein you daily remember the seasons and events of our Lord's life with the use of the Protestant rosary. It does not replace your own personal prayers nor is it meant to. I have found over the years it is a wonderful tool to enhance my daily personal prayers.

I hope many of your questions about how to use your Protestant rosary will be answered between the book, A Ladder from Earth to Heaven: The Rosary for All Christians, and this web site. To further help you, I have set up the mystery meditations of the liturgical calendar year for your use in case you aren't sure exactly where you are in the seasonal prayers. After a while, though, it may become second-nature to you. It may not. That's what the calendar is there for!

I would love for you to join with others in The Garland of Roses Society. Society members receive quarterly newsletters and your input with an article, poem or great joke are welcome. Unfortunately, very few can be used, but believe me, those who put together the newsletter enjoy them tremendously! There is an annual gathering of Society members for a three day weekend retreat of prayer and fun. Suggestions as to where and when are always welcome at the email members of The Garland of Roses Society have access to.

In a way I cannot fathom this has been my calling from our Heavenly Father. I cannot take your hands in mine nor put my arms around you and wish you "God's Peace" yet I do wish that very thing for you. No matter what happens in your life or in the lives you hold dear in your heart, I pray you will always be able, no matter the stress, pain or fear which comes upon all of us from time to time, to feel the peace beyond our understanding as you use the Protestant rosary on a regular basis.
